We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Children's Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to children and young people who have a disability, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. This role involves working closely with families, social workers, and other professionals to create a nurturing and supportive environment.
* As a senior support worker, you will mentor and support staff within your team. The role is community-based, requiring you to travel to a number of homes and locations.
* You will contribute to and attend meetings related to the children/young people you support.
* You will be supporting children/young people by providing domiciliary personal care for individuals within their own home. This involves personal care support including bathing, dressing, medical tasks, and interventions for which child-specific training will be provided.
* You will also support individuals to access leisure-based community opportunities.
* You will need to be diligent and respond to any emerging safeguarding concerns.
* The children and young people we support say you need to be "fun, happy, kind, and reliable."
* You will need to be conscientious, flexible, and adaptable with the ability to demonstrate a creative approach to working with children and young people who have a disability, alongside their parents and caregivers.
* You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and engagement skills and be able to adapt your style and approach to each individual child and family.
* You must be an enthusiastic worker who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
* The successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to continuous development and to working towards the successful completion of a Skills for Care certification.
