About the Role:
We are looking for a friendly and dedicated Canteen Assistant to join our team at Macphie. As a crucial part of our food services department, you will assist in the daily operations of our staff canteen, ensuring that our employees receive nutritious and delicious meals in a welcoming environment. Your role will involve food preparation, serving, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities
* Prepare and serve meals and snacks in line with our menu standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the canteen area, including washing dishes and cleaning surfaces.
* Assist in the setup and breakdown of food service areas.
* Ensure compliance with all food safety and health regulations.
* Engage with staff and provide excellent customer service to enhance their experience.
* Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory management.
* Assist with general administrative tasks, including food ordering and record-keeping.
* Support the team in daily tasks and any catering events as required.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or food service role is preferred.
* Basic food hygiene certification is an advantage.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in using IT tools for administrative tasks.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Team player with a positive attitude.
* Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
* Flexibility in working hours may be required.
