Delivery Suite Maternity Enhanced Care Unit Lead/ Theatre Link RM
There is an exciting opportunity for experienced midwives with substantial experience as a Band 6 or above, who are passionate about midwifery enhanced care and leadership to join our team of Senior Midwives on Delivery Suite TWH.
This is a role for motivated, experienced midwives in a high/low risk challenging maternity environment. She/he will have good communication and expert midwifery skills, committed to giving high-quality care and challenge practice in supporting individual focused care and will be flexible with day and night working. To also partake in the on-call system.
You will lead on MECU care, educate and support staff within this high risk environment and be our main maternity theatre link midwife and work in close collaboration with the MDT, Theatre staff, Critical Care.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking midwife to provide effective leadership, be a role model of excellent midwifery practice, particularly within MECU and theatres and demonstrate a commitment in supporting colleagues to provide women centred care and a positive birth experience. In this role you will also assist with the day to day co-ordination of the activity on the Delivery suite and working in close collaboration with the key areas in the unit. Experience of coordinating a delivery suite is desirable. Evidence of up to date PROMPT training and physiological fetal surveillance is essential.
It will involve working collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team, giving advice and support in intrapartum and acute midwifery and obstetric care.
This post will also involve facilitating training along with the PDM's.
Job responsibilities

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* RM and eligible to practice
* Working at a degree level
* Completed Enhanced Maternal Care (EMC) training or equivalent
* Mentorship in Practice / Sign off mentor
* Evidence of further study and development of professional and academic skills
* Recognition of Sepsis and Treatment
* Course in the Care of the Post-Operative Patient/Recovery
Experience/ Knowledge
* Significant experience at band 6 or above
* Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate Midwifery care for women and their babies.
* Experience with working in a Maternity Enhanced Care setting.
* Experience of working within the Maternity Theatre setting
* Sound knowledge of recent Government/Professional documents with awareness of implications to service provision.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and how Concern & Vulnerability process works, including Social Services
* Experience of acting as a mentor to both qualified midwives and students encouraging evidence-based practice
* To have developed local and national networks
* Had experience of coordinating delivery suite
