Reporting directly to the Functional Manager/Engineer, this role plays a key part in delivering high-quality services to our customers and ensuring the successful completion of planned works. You will be responsible for supervising highway-related projects, ensuring all operational activities align with the County Council’s standards, strategies, and policies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will engage with customers and stakeholders in a professional and supportive manner, ensuring they are well-informed about the services and standards we provide. The Role
• To carry out supervision of operational resources, undertaking a range of highway maintenance works and ensuring that works are carried out to the agreed standards and methods, and that operational procedures are adhered to.
• To carry out daily site checks and ensure that quality is maintained on site and that required documentation / certification is completed.
• To be responsible for the day-to-day work delivered by the operatives, including productivity and ensuring daily briefings are carried out and job packs are raised correctly.
• To manage all aspects of Traffic Management required to undertake works on high-speed roads across the County, including during night works.
• To assist with the identification of works for the future programmes as appropriate.
• Knowledge of Highway Legislation, relevant design procedures and standards and good practice.
• You may be required to supervise out of hours working to ensure that works are carried out correctly, safely and within time and budget constraints.
• Apply your knowledge of Health and Safety legislation including Construction (Design & Management) Regulations and your appropriate level of understanding of the principles of safety.
• Current valid driving licence.
• You will be hard working and motivated and show good initiative in the field of Street Lighting.
