Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Ofsted Dual Home Manager to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of two children's homes in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, managing staff across both homes, and delivering exceptional care and support to young people. This role requires a strong leader with a passion for children's welfare, operational excellence, and a commitment to safeguarding and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Governance:
* Ensure full compliance with Ofsted standards and regulations.
* Maintain high-quality care standards and implement best practices across both homes.
* Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections and audits.
* Keep up to date with changes in legislation and ensure compliance.
Operational & Financial Management:
* Oversee the daily operations of two children's homes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
* Manage budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation for both homes.
* Monitor occupancy levels and ensure both homes operate at full capacity.
* Implement policies and procedures that align with company and regulatory guidelines.
Staff Leadership & Development:
* Recruit, train, and mentor staff to ensure a high-performing team across both homes.
* Conduct regular supervision, appraisals, and performance management.
* Foster a positive work culture that encourages staff retention and professional growth.
* Ensure adequate staffing levels and workforce planning for both homes.
Young People’s Care & Safeguarding:
* Develop and implement personalized care plans for young people in both homes.
* Ensure young people receive high-quality, trauma-informed support tailored to their needs.
* Promote a safe, structured, and supportive environment across both homes.
* Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring all safeguarding policies are adhered to.
* Work closely with local authorities, social workers, and external agencies to ensure positive outcomes for residents.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with young people, families, social workers, and external agencies.
* Work collaboratively with educational institutions, mental health professionals, and local authorities.
* Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.
Key Requirements:
* Registered Manager qualification (Level 5 in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare) or willingness to work towards it.
* Proven experience as a Registered Children's Home Manager, preferably overseeing multiple homes.
* Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and compliance.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* Experience managing budgets and financial operations within a care setting.
* A compassionate, child-centered approach to care.
* Ability to manage complex cases and respond effectively to challenging situations.
* Enhanced DBS check (required prior to employment).
