Working hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.
Contract Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract.
The main purpose of the role is to assist in the application of the Eurofins Linlithgow ISO17025 based Quality System on a day-to-day basis, with the aim of assuring the quality of all data produced.
* Ensure the validity of results:
o By making sure good laboratory practice is adhered to by all team members.
o Overseeing the processing of daily controls and acting upon all failures.
o Overseeing the quality control of media and acting upon all failures.
* Responsible for the safe handling of all test items.
* Assist Quality Manager in reviewing the hygiene programme and take corrective action on all failures.
* Carry out equipment calibration.
* Responsible for microbiological technical records.
* Complete non-compliance reports for the laboratory as required.
* Assist Quality Manager as directed with the review of Quality Documentation against national and international standards, UKAS and RSA requirements.
* Resolve any issues as they occur regarding compliance issues.
* Carry out test witnessing of laboratory methods, ensuring relevant training records are completed in compliance with policy and procedure.
* Attend regular Quality Meetings.
* Deputise for the Quality Manager.
* Working for constant improvement.
* To comply with all aspects of Health and Safety regulations.
Qualifications:
* Experience in management of technical and quality in food and water testing under ISO 17025 accreditation or equivalent in GMP.
* Experience or knowledge of analytical chemistry methodology.
* Experience or knowledge of microbiology laboratory methodology.
* Able to prioritise and organise workloads.
* Proven experience of working in an environment associated with the exacting high standards required of UKAS accreditation and ISO 17025.
* Strong communication skills.
* Computer literate.
