The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our creative and friendly Building Engineering team in Belfast.
You will be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team of around 40 Engineers and Technicians. Our local, regional, national and international projects will allow you to work and succeed in a multicultural business environment.
Current and recent projects include commercial, residential, transport, industrial and social infrastructure projects.
We are looking for an engineer with developing design, technical, and software skills who enjoys working collaboratively in multi-professional design teams, working on packages of work from inception to completion to achieve outstanding results.
Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrating a passion for structural engineering, a flair for structural engineering design, and a practical understanding of buildings.
2. Working with the Arup team in the structural engineering design of projects, taking responsibility for discrete packages of structural engineering work.
3. Demonstrate an ability to communicate through sketching, drawing, presentations and writing.
4. Checking own and others' work and giving feedback.
5. Managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
6. Mentoring junior members of the team.
Is this role right for you?
We are looking for a candidate who:
1. Is degree qualified and working towards chartership via IStructE, ICE or equivalent.
2. Has a developing understanding of engineering principles, and the appropriate use of technical analysis and design software packages.
3. Has a background of working with Eurocode or equivalent.
4. Has an aptitude for working on your own initiative and being proactive.
