Job Title : Machinist Location :Calcton on Sea Salary : £16.00 per hour Working Hours : 39 hours per week (Mon – Thu: 08:00 – 16:30, Fri: 08:00 – 15:30) Reports To : Toolroom Supervisor Job Purpose The Machinist will be responsible for the preparation, service, and repair of Company press tooling. Working closely with the Toolroom Supervisor, this role ensures the precise machining of components in compliance with quality standards, while adhering to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all company health, safety, and environmental policies. Machining Operations: Perform machining tasks in preparation for the manufacture, service, and repair of press tooling, as directed by the department supervisor. Quality Control: Follow company quality procedures to guarantee that tooling consistently meets customer requirements. Technical Competence: Read and interpret technical drawings accurately. Analyze and troubleshoot problems with a logical, methodical approach. Assess tooling following any unplanned downtime and determine the necessary repair or service. Tool Design Knowledge: Possess a basic understanding of tool design principles and familiarity with associated software packages. Equipment Operated XYZ Mills Manual Mills Lathes Bridgeport CNC Surface Grinders Training will be provided where necessary. Relationships Internal: Department Supervisor External: [None specified] Personal Profile / Required Skills Minimum 3 years of experience as a machinist in a toolroom environment. Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Solid understanding of machining techniques and equipment.
