Job Description
Service Care Solutions is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a reputable local authority in London for an experienced and qualified legal professional specializing in Homelessness and Civil Litigation. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic legal team, where you will play a pivotal role in providing expert legal counsel to the council, senior officers, and stakeholders. If you have a strong background in Housing Law and Civil Litigation, along with excellent leadership and problem-solving skills, this role offers the chance to make a significant impact on key legal matters affecting the community.
Main responsibilities
* Provide expert legal advice on Homelessness and Civil Litigation matters to the Council, members, and officers.
* Serve as the primary legal contact for senior officers on Homelessness/Civil Litigation issues.
* Represent the Council in County, High, Family, Coroners, Crown, and Magistrates' courts, handling all hearings, trials, and appeals.
* Conduct high-quality advocacy, including complex hearings, in various courts and tribunals.
* Actively support the management of the legal department, ensuring effective operations.
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Legal Professional: Must hold a current practising certificate as a Barrister, Solicitor, or Legal Executive.
* Leadership Skills: Confident with a can-do attitude and the ability to lead and support a legal team effectively.
* Experience in Housing Law/Civil Litigation: Strong and proven expertise in handling a wide range of homelessness and civil litigation matters.
* Problem-Solving Abilities: Able to anticipate and proactively address legal challenges with practical and effective solutions.
* Dependable and Self-Reliant: Highly dependable, with the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
