Supply Chain & Retail
Supply Chain Services provides both pre-wholesale and wholesale distribution of pharmaceutical, healthcare and animal health products to pharmacies and hospitals nationwide. The business supports a diverse customer base through the provision of strong service levels coupled with innovative commercial initiatives. In addition, the business provides services and supports that help independent community pharmacy to compete more effectively in an increasingly difficult environment and runs a network of Uniphar-owned pharmacies under the Life, Allcare, McCauleys and Hickeys symbol brands.
Pharma – On Demand
The On-Demand business is a specialist medical supply business that sources and distributes pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and consumable supplies to healthcare professionals in over 160 countries worldwide. We have offices in Ireland, UK, Europe, USA and New Zealand. The company’s main divisions encompass everything from International Sales through Sales to NGO’s and Charities, Clinical Trials Supply, Imported (Unlicensed Medicines), Sexual Health Supplies, and the storage and distribution of medical products and devices for third parties.

The role
To support in the management of all warehouse activities, ensuring the efficient and safe distribution of all products to and from Durbin UK facilities. Responsible for the day-to-day operations management of people within the warehouse and facilities departments, ensuring company's targets and objectives are met to meet customer requirements, and that staff comply with health, safety, and standard operating procedures.
Key Outcomes and Responsibilities
* Provide a safe working environment, adhering to Health, Safety and Quality related procedures.
* Ensure orders are processed efficiently and that the delivery of product meets customer timescales/requirements.
* Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
* Supervise and proactively control order picking, goods in, goods out operations.
* Organise, facilitate, and manage stock takes at regular intervals.
* Identify errors and eliminate root causes using robust countermeasures.
* Monitor and maintain stock accuracy by ensuring the physical stock aligns with the warehouse management system.
* Complete and maintain all daily and weekly reports and logs for the warehouse.
* Ensure all workflow procedures and processes are followed by direct reports.
* Coach, train, and guide direct reports to deliver high levels of quality service.
* Ensure that the warehouse area is kept clean and safe, mitigating any health and safety risks.
* Take responsibility and ownership in problem resolution.
* Responsible for overall productivity within the designated team.
* Actively support operational change while minimising disruption to production and service.
Minimum Qualifications
* Sufficient proven experience as a supervisor or team leader, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry or a supply chain background.
* Ability to lead and motivate a team, setting objectives and defining responsibilities.
* Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality.
* Strong people management skills with the ability to guide others in accomplishing work objectives.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Previous experience with ERP, WMS and TMS systems.
* Understanding of Goods Distribution Practices (GDP) and Goods Warehouse Practices (GWP).
* Ability to work between the hours of 8:00-19:00 Monday to Friday.
