As a Support Worker, you will play an essential role in providing compassionate, high-quality support to adults with LD and autisms. Working within a therapeutic and safe environment, you’ll help young people with complex emotional needs to thrive and grow, providing the encouragement and care they need to reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Day-to-Day Support: Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, promoting independence, and supporting adults to lead fulfilling lives.
* Relationship Building: Develop positive relationships with young people, creating a safe and nurturing environment where they feel valued, respected, and supported.
* Care Planning: Support the implementation of individual care plans, working closely with social workers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver tailored support.
* Safeguarding: Follow all safeguarding procedures, reporting any concerns to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
* Documentation and Compliance: Keep accurate records and ensure compliance with all relevant standards.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with other support workers and the management team to ensure high-quality, consistent care.
* Crisis Support: Provide calm, supportive assistance in times of crisis, ensuring the well-being and safety of young people and colleagues.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience in adults, young adults, children homes or similar care environment is essential.
* Level 2 Diploma in Care (or a willingness to work towards it).
* Knowledge of safeguarding practices and regulatory standards.
* Excellent communication skills, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* A genuine passion for helping people and providing a nurturing environment.
