Key Qualifications BSc/BEng in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or HNC/HDC with equivalent experience) 5 years of relevant composite analysis experience (aerospace, composites or F1) Proficient in Hypermesh, Optistruct, RADIOSS or ANSYS tools Experience in aerospace analysis environment a major advantage Responsibilities The successful candidate will work within the composites team being responsible for the stress analysis, optimization, verification and approval of our aircraft composite structures, involving: Working with the Chief Composites Engineer and technical specialists to develop composite design schemes and detailed designs of aircraft parts and assemblies. Develop static and rotating structural components. Develop complex composite parts, laminate and core schemes, bonded assemblies, metallic inserts, patterns and tools. Create simulation models to analyse the airframe components and sub-systems using analysis methods ranging from initial scoping calculations to 2D and 3D FEA models. Build and analyse mechanical models of static and rotating components using 2D and 3D FEA. Carry out assessment and optimization of static structural strength, modal and forced response and impact scenarios. Carry out detailed composite FEA and optimization. Technical assessment of the component life and integrity through the design phase, into testing, verification, validation, certification and in-service support. Crack propagation and damage tolerance assessments of aircraft critical parts. Define, plan, support and analyse rig testing to verify and validate the design and achieve certification. Technical documentation of tasks and preparation of certification reports. Working strictly to agreed deadlines.
