We are looking for an appropriately experienced professional to fill this exciting role as Physical Interventions Trainer within the Health and Safety Services Team of NHS Fife. You will support and assist the Violence and Aggression Advisor in ensuring that NHS Fife Mental Health Service meets its responsibilities under Health & Safety legislation in relation to Violence & Aggression (V&A) at work. This will consist of training, giving advice, and providing practical support as directed within the organisation.
You will provide guidance, specialist knowledge, and support to all staff that are likely to be faced with challenging behaviours. You will play a key role in developing risk assessments and assist staff in identifying measures for managing specific individuals. You will be responsible for auditing and evaluating training courses specifically related to the management of violence and aggression and will participate in future service developments regarding violence and aggression reduction and management.
This post is open to a Registered Nurse or Associated Health Professional with appropriate experience. Previous experience in aggression management or a related field, along with underpinning knowledge, understanding, and experience of aggression management, people management, presentation skills, teaching skills, and team leadership would be highly desirable. The role will require you to work across NHS Fife and liaise with colleagues across the Health and Social Care partnership.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. Your offer/contract of employment will therefore reflect the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
