There is opportunity for training in upper and lower GI endoscopy and help can be given to obtain JAG accreditation depending on the level of experience and skills of the post holder. The recent increase in endoscopy training capacity has meant the department has a track record of successful JAG accreditation by several individuals including endoscopy nurses and surgical middle grade / registrars based at Ipswich Hospital. If the post-holder is already JAG accredited, independent endoscopy lists can be rostered with mutual agreement.
The post offers excellent opportunities for the successful candidate to further develop laparoscopic and robotic minimally invasive surgical skills in the field of general and colorectal surgery. This is a new post created to support the deliveryof general surgery services at Ipswich Hospital.
