We are recruiting for an important role in our Whenby site Reporting to the UK Livestock Manager, you will be responsible for providing the highest levels of care and husbandry to some of the most valuable beef and dairy bulls in the global artificial insemination industry. Your working hours will be 6am until 2pm NOTE - For biosecurity reasons you must be livestock-free Daily activities such as feeding/bedding Genetics collection from some of the world’s highest value bulls Clipping/washing bulls for regular photographing and classification visits Regular health care/foot trimming Routine health testing of bulls to ensure the health and wellbeing of all livestock within the stud, ensuring early detection and treatment Support the movement of bulls into and out of the stud Manage isolation facilities for bulls entering the stud Ensure that records are kept up to date Support the upkeep and maintenance of all equipment used within the stud Ensure all Health and Safety protocols are adhered to as to ensure a safe working environment Advocate biosecurity principles and ensure all visitors on site adhere to the company rules Liaise with other Genus staff throughout the business as the role requires Previous experience of livestock management Be livestock-free and aware of biosecurity principles Have an interest in and an enthusiasm for the industry Possess excellent communication, organisation and prioritisation skills IT skills would be advantageous Genus is an agricultural biotechnology pioneer.
