Job summary The Education Learning & Development Team is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and motivated individual to take on the role of Head of Clinical Education & Professional Development. The position is a key leadership role within the education team and will act as the designated deputy for the Assistant Director of Clinical Education in the delivery of strategic and the operational objectives for Clinical Education. The postholder will be responsible forco-ordinate the delivery of clinical education across following key delivery units and line managing designated reports: Medical Education & Libraries, Clinical Skills and Simulation, Moving & Handling,Resuscitation Service, Practice Development, Pre-registration for nurses, midwives & AHPs, Preceptorship, Contracted Education, Apprenticeships,Band 2-4 Education andClinical statutory and mandatory programmes The Head of Clinical Education & Professional Development will support the setting of the strategic direction for education, learning and development across the organisation, contributing to the delivery of high-quality care that meets local and national indicators. They will act as an expert resource in relation to all education matters both internally and when representing the Trust with external stakeholders. Main duties of the job The post holder will represent the Trust both internally and at regional and national forums in relation to all education matters and will undertake networking and influencing within the wider NHS context to forge working relationships, learn and apply best practices. The post holder will be required to work autonomously managing and prioritising own workstreams and taking on delegated authority to achieve the following: Support and strengthen the established collaborative structure between medical and non-medical education, supporting and integrating multi-professional education within the trust. Provide strategic direction and specialist clinical training knowledge to the Clinical Education Leads in the delivery of clinical education in the Trust. Take on responsibility for the planning, funding, delivery and evaluation of learning and development through CPD that underpins evidence-based practice for individuals and teams. Supportthe development and embedding of the Education Practice Development nurses, midwives and AHPs including the development of a strategy, to improve the consistency, deployment and supervision of these 'practice influencing' professionals.
