Job Title: Water Quality Scientist

Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Location: South Coast - You will be based in one of our offices within Southern Water patch - Chatham, Falmer, Durrington, Otterbourne - Hybrid - 3 office/site and 2 WFH. It is essential for you to have a driving licence due to site visit requirements.
We're seeking a passionate Water Quality Scientist to join our team, with the flexibility of working across the region and from home. As a Water Quality Scientist, reporting to the Scientific Services Quality Manager, you will ensure that our ISO 9001 certification for Water Production is maintained, meeting regulatory requirements and business needs. This is a rewarding but challenging role as you will play a vital part in the provision of clean, wholesome water as part of a key public service.
You will be working with various stakeholders, liaising across different functions, with a focus on the delivery of excellence ensuring we meet our strategic targets (value for money, regulatory compliance and serviceability, engaging people). You will also be undertaking activities which support both the ISO 9001 and 17025 Quality Management Systems, including completion of audits, business reporting, and 2nd line assurance on processes.
If you have previous scientific experience or come from a water supply background with a thorough understanding of quality and compliance, then we would love to hear from you.
To be successful in this role, you’ll be a good communicator with the ability to communicate solutions in a clear and concise manner. Exceptionally well-organized with excellent time management, you will have demonstrable experience and strong operational understanding in water supply and be able to build positive relationships with operational colleagues. As we are part of a regulated industry, it is essential for you to have a good understanding of the company’s regulatory framework and statutory obligations.
