The Role:
We seek a dedicated and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee Hard FM and Soft FM operations within a secure mental health charity environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management and ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency across our facilities. This role requires a compassionate, resilient, committed individual to maintain a secure, therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Hard FM Management:
* Oversee and manage building maintenance, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC systems, plumbing, and other essential infrastructure in a secure healthcare setting.
* Ensure compliance with CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards, health and safety regulations, statutory obligations, and industry best practices.
* Coordinate with contractors and vendors for planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring adherence to security protocols.
* Develop and manage budgets for Hard FM services, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising patient and staff safety.
* Implement sustainability initiatives per NHS and government Net Zero Carbon targets.
Soft FM Management:
* Oversee Soft FM services, including cleaning, security, waste management, catering, housekeeping, porterage, concierge (front-of-house service) IT and communications (including personal alarms), and grounds maintenance.
* Ensure that all Soft FM services comply with infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols relevant to mental health and healthcare environments.
* Manage external service providers and internal teams, ensuring high performance and compliance standards.
* Develop and enforce service level agreements (SLAs) to meet operational and clinical needs.
* Oversee space management, ensuring the facilities support a therapeutic and safe environment for patients and staff.
Your profile:
Proven Facilities Management experience within a secure or healthcare environment, including Hard FM (building maintenance, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, etc.) and Soft FM (cleaning, security, waste management, etc.).
At least 5 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role within Facilities Management.
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, safeguarding, infection control, and compliance standards in a healthcare or mental health setting.
