One of our most exciting clients - a leading biotechnology company at the forefront of antibody drug discovery and development, is offering a unique opportunity to join their Antibody Discovery team. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic team of scientists dedicated to advancing new sequence-based and structure-based antibody design approaches.
This is a laboratory-based position where the ideal candidate will possess a strong background in molecular biology and microbiological methods, along with a proven track record in antibody discovery or protein engineering.
Responsibilities
* Play a key role in the discovery of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies to support the company’s drug development pipeline.
* Utilise advanced yeast display technology for the discovery and optimisation of human antibodies aligned with therapeutic targets.
* Design, construct, and execute selections using bespoke synthetic display libraries to support in silico de novo antibody discovery and optimisation projects.
* Prepare and analyse next-generation sequencing (NGS) libraries to support antibody discovery and the engineering of lead molecules.
* Work closely with computational and CADD scientists to co-develop and apply AI/Deep Learning solutions and structure-based approaches to facilitate the discovery and engineering of high-quality antibody molecules.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative methodologies in antibody display and engineering.
* Collaborate across project teams to ensure timely delivery of results.
* Present experimental data at cross-functional meetings.
Profile
* A PhD (or equivalent) with strong knowledge of molecular biology and protein biochemistry, ideally within the antibody space.
* Experience with in vitro display libraries for discovery, affinity maturation, or protein engineering. Familiarity with structure- or deep sequence-guided insights is desirable.
* Hands-on expertise in biochemical characterisation techniques such as flow cytometry, surface plasmon resonance, or Bio-layer interferometry would be advantageous.
* Skills in informatics and computational platforms, including molecular visualisation and next-generation sequencing data analysis, would be beneficial.
