The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Training & Competence Supervisor to join our experienced Financial Planning Team.
This pivotal role is responsible for the effective delivery of the requirements defined in the Training & Competence Scheme, ensuring that all advising staff are supported and developed to achieve business standards and demonstrate competence.
As a key player in our compliance team, you will oversee the implementation of FCA regulated requirements, providing guidance and support to ensure our Financial Planning Consultants meet and exceed regulatory standards.
This role can be based at any of our offices, and the successful candidate must be able to work full time in order to fulfil every aspect of the job description.
The main elements of this role will include:
* Carrying out supervision activities as defined in the Training & Competence (T&C) Scheme (observing client meetings, providing effective and constructive feedback to our Consultants, carrying out file reviews to ensure suitability / records meet firm standards etc)
* Delivering client skills training to our Financial Planning Consultants, where development needs have been identified
* Maintaining appropriate T&C records
* Providing Management Information that enables Armstrong Watson Financial Planning Limited to manage risks
* Having proactive involvement in the development of business standards
* Maintaining own regulatory and technical knowledge
* Monitoring CPD records
* Sourcing and recommending training courses / materials to upskill Financial Planning Consultants and address their developmental areas
The Candidate
This is a certified role. In order to fulfil the responsibilities of the position, we would like candidates to be / have:
* A Full UK Driving Licence (desirable not essential requirement)
* A Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (minimum requirement)
* A Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning (desirable not essential requirement)
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of High Level Standards - Training & Competency (TC)
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of Business Standards - Conduct of Business (COBS)
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of High Level Standards - Code of Conduct (COCON)
* Minimum industry experience of 3 years in a Training & Competency role
* Excellent communication skills, in both verbal and written forms
* Able to prioritise workloads under strict deadlines and work well under pressure
* Good attention to detail to ensure that reports are compiled to the highest possible quality
