Job Overview The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced-based nursing care, working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families. Assist in the management and organisation of their clinical area and participating in the education, development and supervision of other staff members. Take responsibility for a ward or equivalent sphere of nursing, in the absence of the senior nurse or person who has continuing (24 hour) responsibility. We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic registered nurses with vascular experience and knowledge to join Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s North Wales Vascular Network. For those nurses without Vascular experience but with a keen interest and a desire to develop their skills, we will provide support and guidance to gain their Vascular competencies. Newly qualified nurses will follow the Health Board preceptorship programme and will not only gain vascular knowledge and skills, but progress to become Practice Supervisors and Practice Assessors for our future nursing students. The tertiary unit for major arterial surgery is located at Glan Clwyd Hospital, Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire. As an integral part of this development we have invested in a dedicated vascular ward and installed a state of the art Hybrid Theatre (including Interventional Radiology facilities). The Health Board has invested in a team of consultant surgeons, interventional radiologists, middle grade doctors, two new IR suites and a dedicated vascular ward. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
