Gleeson Homes are looking to recruit an experienced Regional Buyer to support our continued growth by maximising profits through effective management of the supply chain in accordance with the commercial procedures.
The role of Regional Buyer is to provide an efficient and effective centralised and dynamic procurement service to regional operating teams to support the regional and Group business plan, build delivery programmes, commercial objectives, budgets and future growth requirements.

As a Regional Buyer, you will:
Provide an efficient and effective Group procurement service that ensure all regional operations and sites receive the necessary support for all centralised group deals and related group procurement matters ensuring that value is being added by the Buying team.
Ensure the integrated delivery of Group procurement services as related to new and existing developments ensuring the optimal use of Group deals and associated discounts and service and the effective control and compliance with the group order approval process, material/product/plant specification, nominated suppliers, etc
Be available to provide operational support and assistance to regional buying teams, being a key point of contact for advisory and technical support in relation to Group procured items and associated services.
Work closely with regional and Group commercial teams to provide, monitor and control the group/bulk material budget information and expenditure for each site as per the commercial approval process.
Work closely with regional and Group technical departments to proactively ascertain key development in-formation where required to ensure that Centralised buying activity and associated Group Supplier deals efficiently meets the requirements of regional build programmes and development budgets.
Manage personal workload and priorities within the team to ensure effective oversight and control of bulk/group deals in line with due dates and site requisitions schedules aligned to agreed KPIs and build programmes. Sufficient time is allocated to the monitoring and assisting Regional teams in resolving supplier, delivery and invoice queries arising, and that the overall level of queries does not become unacceptable or counter-productive to the efficient operation of the wider buying function.
The Ideal Candidate:
A relevant qualification like CIPS/MCIPS or broad experience in a previous Buying/Procurement function
Broad financial and commercial knowledge
Broad technical awareness, including good understanding of current regulations that affect procurement e.g. building regulations, NHBC etc.
Broad knowledge of the Construction industry
Proficient user of the COINS (procurement section) system, Microsoft Excel & Word packages.
Exceptional stakeholder management, with resilience and maturity to face challenges and delivery pressures
Able to balance multiple priorities within a fast-changing and demanding environment.
