Job Description:
Applications are invited for enthusiastic, motivated, and committed individuals to join our friendly and dynamic team within the Respiratory Directorate at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. Part-time and flexible working applicants are encouraged to apply. We welcome applicants interested in hybrid roles in Respiratory/Critical Care and Respiratory/Acute Medicine.
This is an exciting time to join us as we have opened our new Respiratory High Care Unit at the Grange University Hospital, part of reconfiguring services in primary and secondary care.
Main duties of the job
The Respiratory Department includes 14 WTE consultants, 7 specialist registrars, core medical trainees, Clinical Fellows (Pleural, Sleep, NIV, High Care), a Respiratory Consultant Nurse, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians Associates. Services include EBUS, Thoracoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Respiratory Ambulatory Care, and ambulatory Pleural service. The Lung Cancer MDT is one of the largest in the UK, functioning as a single cancer pathway. A dedicated Sleep Laboratory at Neville Hall Hospital offers tertiary services for Wales.
We seek individuals capable of managing subspecialty respiratory medicine for a population of over 600,000. We aim to develop existing services like lung cancer, pleural medicine, asthma, NIV, ILD, and Sleep, and to strengthen links with palliative services for end-of-life and anticipatory care planning. Applicants with interests in bronchiectasis, pulmonary hypertension, or interventional bronchoscopy are especially welcome.
Aneurin Bevan Health Board is one of seven in Wales, providing comprehensive healthcare services to over 600,000 residents in South East Wales, and is among the largest NHS trusts in the UK.
About us
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is a multi-award-winning NHS organization committed to caring. It offers a supportive workplace with opportunities for career growth, extensive training, and professional development, including recognized qualifications and management programs. We promote flexible working, work-life balance, and provide occupational health support. Our strategy emphasizes care closer to home and high-quality hospital services, exemplified by the new Grange University Hospital opened in November 2020. Join us to innovate and deliver world-class healthcare.
