Weare well known throughout the departmentfor our regular wellbeing and social initiatives such as: • World shared lunches • Lunchtime tournaments • Team challenges • Cake rot Main duties of the job As a Team Lead you will be supporting the team to delivery high quality therapy to a varied inpatient caseload of patients including: -elderly trauma -major trauma - limb reconstruction The team values holistic patient-centred care and in this post, you will be able to use your skills in assessment and clinical reasoning through treatment planning, rehabilitation and discharge planning. In collaboration with the Pathway Lead, you will support delivery of a high quality and responsive service, including responsibility for the operational management and leadership of the team, ensuring patients receive up-to-date, evidence-based treatments and implement clinical standards. You will be an integral part of the TO service. This includes providing clinical support, attending, and inputting to regular combined meetings and in-service training and contributing to service development by being aware of the national and local agendas. Person Specification Experience Essential • Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team • In depth knowledge in Trauma and Orthopaedics, underpinned by theory and practical experience • Contributing to clinical education of less experienced staff, students or assistants • Previous experience at Band 6 or equivalent • Experience of clinical supervision of less experienced staff • Evidence of previous experience & participation in audit • Experience of discharge planning • A variety of experience in acute core areas, as postgraduate physiotherapist i.e T&O, musculoskeletal, respiratory & neurological, dealing with a wide range of patients with differing needs Desirable • Experience or knowledge of working in a community setting skillls and abilities Essential • Effective communication skills both verbal & written • Ability to work unsupervised • Ability to plan, prioritise & delegate • Excellent organisational skills • Demonstrate Assessment, Analytical & Reflective skills across a diverse patient group • Ability to meet deadlines & work under pressure • Ability to effectively perform patient assessments & interventions, including manual therapy & therapeutic handling • Presentation skills • Knowledge of clinical Governance & its application to Physiotherapy • Ability to cope in a stressful environment undertaking moderate to intense physical effort throughout the working day and carry out concurrent activities • Competent IT Skills • Ability to effect & manage change • Leadership Skills Desirable • Ability to travel between sites Aptitudes Essential • Credible & mature attitude, which is recognised & respected by other staff Qualifications and Training Essential • Degree in Physiotherapy • Health Professions Council registered • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development specific to T&O Desirable • Involvement in Relevant Special Clinical Interest Groups
