Pastoral, co-curricular, cultural and sports activities take place outside normal day-school hours.
We are seeking two dynamic and caring colleagues who will seize an exciting opportunity to work at Rugby School. The successful candidates will act as Pastoral Assistants.
The Pastoral Assistant’s primary role is to support the pastoral provision within the Boarding and Day Houses, in particular by covering periods of absence of either the Resident Matron or Non-Resident Matron. The role may also entail escorting students to medical appointments.
The Pastoral Assistant will also support the Assistant Head, Houses, by undertaking a variety of tasks when not covering a House, including, but not limited to, the coordination of the deployment of the Bank Matron team, provision of support for the School social programme and the undertaking of administrative tasks in support of the pastoral provision.
Applicants will need to be able to build excellent relationships with young people, be supportive and caring. The post also calls for good organisational skills, IT literacy, the ability to remain calm under pressure and a flexible approach to duties. A first aid qualification is desirable but not essential as this training can be provided. However, a full driving licence is essential.
These permanent positions are for 32 hours per week on a rota basis, Monday to Saturday, 34 weeks per year. Competitive Salary.
