This is a developmental role, no previous hospital or pharmacy experience is required just a willingness to take on a dynamic and rewarding role supplying medicines. You will be supported to work towards rotational objectives and undertake an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services. The Stores and Distribution team within Pharmacy provides the medicine supply service for three dispensaries, all wards and departments at Epsom and St Helier hospitals and a wide variety of local community clinics. Within the dispensary team you will play a key role in preparing medicines for our patients. You will also carry out general housekeeping, filing and receptionist duties and undertake daily stock checks. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills, basic IT skills and have a good attention to detail. Evidence of previous basic experience of stock control & maintenance, such as stock rotation, ordering and/or receiving stock should be included in your application. Hours of work are Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 5.30pm. You will also participate in the late duty, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday rotas. Main duties of the job To assist in the efficient economical running of the pharmacy service by dispensing prescriptions in accordance with departmental policies and by maintaining accurate stock levels of pharmaceutical products in wards and departments, including Pharmacy. The post includes general duties within the Pharmacy distribution service including receiving goods, carrying out ward top ups, and issuing stock to wards, carried out under the supervision of the Pharmacy Distribution Services Manager.
