Their portfolio ranges from fundamental biological research to developing innovative vaccines, biologic drugs, and novel cell and gene therapies. Their job is to supply the tools and services - the pots, pans, soups and sauces - they need to work better, faster and safer, leading to better patient outcomes.
What you'll do:
Work closely with Chemists, Materials Scientists, Engineers, and Biologists, developing functional membranes for use in affinity chromatography
Develop methods for the chemical modification of membrane materials in flow reactors from early R&D phase through to readiness for transfer to Production
Characterise membranes using analytical methods including Raman Spectroscopy, SEC-HPLC, LC-MS, FT-IR and dry weight, as well as working on development of new methods
Take a leading role in planning, execution, data analysis and reporting of R&D studies, including Design of Experiments, shelf-life and robustness studies
Write up experimental findings in Electronic Lab Notebook entries and Technical reports, as well as presenting the data to colleagues within the R&D team
Who you are:
PhD in Chemistry or a related subjected, with a minimum of 6 months experience in a directly relevant R&D role, or MSc in the same subjects with a minimum of 4 years' in a directly relevant R&D role
Extensive laboratory experience in wet chemistry/synthetic organic chemical reactions
