The post holder is responsible for the delivery of care and the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of individual programs of care. They are expected to take delegated responsibility in a given shift for a group of patients.
With experience, they may be expected to take charge of the ward/department/service area in the absence of their Line Manager.

Job responsibilities
Are you a keen and enthusiastic Band 5 looking for a full-time position in Day Surgery? An opportunity has arisen to join our busy DSU Nursing team. The successful candidate needs to be motivated and committed to delivering the highest standards of care. Flexibility is a must to cover the service. The successful candidate will need to work 4 days a week throughout our Monday to Friday service, including opportunities to work in all areas such as Day Surgery, The Vanguard Unit, and caring for Paediatric patients. During times of escalation, Day Surgery staff also care for inpatients. In your supporting statement, please tell me why you want to work in Day Surgery and what skills you can bring to our service.
Working Pattern: Part-time - 30 hours per week: 3 days a week, Monday to Friday, hours ranging from 07:00 until 21:00.

This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months. For current NHS employees, this post could be a secondment opportunity.
