As a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Associate Director - Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing their quantity surveying team in Birmingham. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost management, providing strategic advice to clients, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects within budget and on schedule. This is a senior-level position that requires strong leadership, extensive industry experience, and exceptional communication skills.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the quantity surveying team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Oversee all cost management activities, including cost planning, estimating, budgeting, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide strategic advice to clients on cost and commercial matters, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations.
- Prepare detailed cost reports, feasibility studies, and tender documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to optimize project costs and enhance value for clients.
- Negotiate contracts, manage procurement processes, and oversee contract administration to ensure effective cost control and risk management.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated and efficient project solutions.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for business growth and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure Pulse Consult remains at the forefront of the quantity surveying profession.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) accreditation is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cost management principles, techniques, and tools.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard software and tools for cost estimation and management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
