Reporting to the Operations Manager, you are responsible for carrying out weekly and monthly maintenance health checks, which will require both hands-on work and completion of associated paperwork. All health checks should be registered digitally, paperwork signed, scanned and saved to the relative folder.
If repairs are required, you are responsible for contacting the supplier or carrying out online research to purchase items, following prior approval from the Supply Chain Manager.
You are also responsible for designing, organising and delivering training programs that ensure employees are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate machinery safely, comply with industry standards and enhance overall production efficiency.

About the role
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintenance
* Assist the Manufacturing Engineer in identifying the requirement for new equipment to replace out of date, inefficient equipment and sourcing same.
Breakdowns/Repairs:
* Understand if the repair of a breakdown is within your remit
* Report the breakdown to management
* Source the replacement part by liaising with the purchasing department or contacting the supplier directly
* Log the breakdown on the register
* Repair the item or, if this is not possible, organise the repair with a third party
* Update the breakdown register
Administration:
* Sign off check sheets, scan and store in relevant folders
* Log all findings to the system and report to management
* Source and purchase replacement parts from the supplier
* Scan and store all tools/equipment manuals for spare parts and repairs
* Log details of daily repairs on to the system
* Monitor and update the company Asset & Equipment Register
Additional Duties:
* Monitor the servicing schedule for factory-based company vehicles, forklifts, compressors, generators etc.
* Follow compulsory inspection reports and liaise with management
* Ensure that all vehicles under your remit are regularly inspected, maintained and comply with legal and safety standards.
Monthly/Weekly Health checks, to include:
* Overhead gantries, jib cranes (weekly)
* Punch/cropper (weekly)
* Mag-drills (weekly)
* Work on height platforms (weekly)
* Band saws (monthly)
* Forklifts (monthly)
* Paint bucket crusher (monthly)
* Pipe bender (monthly)
* Welding equipment (monthly)
New Tools/Projects:
* Assist with the development of new jigs and other tools to improve production
* New equipment (e.g. welding units, lifting gear etc.)
* New tools/accessories (e.g. storing cabinets, paint bucket crusher, smoking hut etc.)
* Organising and monitoring of lifting equipment storage
Training:
* Maintain training documents and associated administration.
* Provide training and guidance to Production teams on new or optimised processes.
* Identify training needs and coordinate the delivery of training programs for employees in Production.
* Maintain a training matrix to ensure employees receive the required training and refresher courses.
* Maintain accurate records of all training activities, certifications and competencies.
* Deliver health and safety inductions (if required) and facilitate factory tours for new starts, ensuring that relevant documentation is stored appropriately.
* Assist in the development and update of video inductions.
* Book and maintain all 3rd party training.
Ad-hoc Support
* Provide administration assistance in the implementation of the ISO system (project)
* Assist with the implementation of ERP system (project)
* Assist with accident & incident reporting, as required
* Assist with COSHH assessments and reviews
* Assist with factory tours and visits
* Assist with compulsory inspections, i.e. LOLER, welding extraction system inspection etc.

* Up to date knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations and best practices
* Must be able to work effectively as a team member but also on your own initiative
