We are seeking an individual who has a caring, compassionate nature and who enjoys working with children and families to join our established multi-disciplinary team as a Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) You will need to have a professional attitude, be passionate about providing high quality care, be reliable, trustworthy and keen to learn. We have 1 full time 12months Fixed Term post in Children's Outpatients, this is Monday-Friday 8.30-17.00. Main duties of the job The HCSW is required to provide safe and effective care to children and young people who have a variety of healthcare requirements. Demonstrating a compassionate approach and friendly nature to support children and families during episodes of emotional stress. The HCSW should understand how poor health impacts on child development and family wellbeing and be able to work with the team to meet the holistic, individualised needs of each family. The ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues, using verbal, written and Information technology skills is essential. You will need to consider the needs of our local diverse community and families who have additional needs when accessing our services. You will be required to assist in the delivery of care whilst respecting privacy and dignity. You will learn to record observations on an electronic platform and work collaboratively with the nursing team to escalate clinical concerns and identify deterioration early. You will be trained to identified safeguarding concerns and have a responsibility to escalate these appropriately. You will need to have good organisational and time keeping skills to ensure patients are see in a timely manner and tasks are completed when required. You must adhere to the trust values and demonstrate a kind, connected and bold attitude to work.
