Job Title: Commercial Account Handler
Location: Borehamwood + 2 days WFH
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum + Benefits
About the Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled Commercial Account Handler to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing existing commercial accounts and assisting in the growth of the Medical Malpractice Professional Indemnity Account. You will contribute to the achievement of departmental financial and service targets through client relationship management, account administration, policy negotiation, and client/insurer interaction.
As a key member of the team, you'll take on a variety of responsibilities, including client visits, processing adjustments, securing new business, and cross-selling additional insurance products. The role also involves maintaining professional relationships with insurer partners and third parties, as well as promoting additional cover benefits to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management:
* Maintain and enhance relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring premium income contributes to meeting individual and departmental financial targets.
* Attend client and insurer visits as required.
* Process mid-term adjustments and handle pre-renewal visits to secure the best terms available.
* Provide quotations and secure new business.
* Cross-sell additional insurance products.
* Manage in-house diary systems and administrative tasks.
Business Development:
* Develop and maintain professional relationships with insurer partners, affiliates, and third-party providers.
* Proactively contact prospective clients to offer Professional Indemnity insurance and policy extensions.
* Promote additional cover benefits such as Cyber, Public Liability, etc.
* Actively develop cross-selling opportunities within different departments.
Compliance & Service Standards:
* Ensure all documentation and actions are in line with service standards and FCA regulations.
* Keep up to date with industry news and developments to ensure your technical knowledge is current.
* Assist in the preparation and attendance of external events and exhibitions as required.
* Adhere to agreed procedures and protocols under Delegated Authority Schemes.
Personal Responsibilities:
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

* Complete allocated regulatory topics within specified deadlines.
* Ensure compliance with all security procedures and notify concerns to the Department Manager.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
* Previous experience in a Commercial Insurance environment is an advantage; SME experience will also be considered. Knowledge of Professional Indemnity Insurance is a plus.
* A strong sales-focused approach to client relationships with a commitment to providing excellent customer service and advice.
* Cert CII or significant progress towards this qualification would be advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
* Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients, insurers, and third parties.
* Good organisational skills with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
* Sound IT skills, particularly with MS Office, and the ability to quickly learn new systems and procedures.
* Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload effectively.
