Join our dynamic team at Kirklees as an HR Manager – Employee Relations & Policy. This role is crucial for developing and delivering our ER Strategy and ensuring the best outcomes for our employees and the organisation.
Key Responsibilities of the HR Manager – Employee Relations & Policy:
1. Develop and Deliver ER Strategy: Create and implement effective negotiation and consultation strategies to drive change.
2. Build Strong Relationships: Collaborate with Trade Union representatives and key stakeholders.
3. Operational and Strategic Direction: Provide guidance for ER & Policy functions, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
4. Lead Employee Relations Matters: Offer advice and coaching to HR teams and senior stakeholders.
5. Stay Legally Compliant: Keep abreast of legislative changes and ensure compliance with best practices.
6. Manage Policy Activities: Oversee policy sign-off and monitoring.
7. Support and Develop Team: Manage, coach, and inspire the ER team to achieve their best.
8. Promote Inclusion and Diversity: Ensure these principles underpin all ER activities.
9. Influence Key Decisions: Be an integral part of the People Services leadership team, shaping strategy and long-term planning.
Essential Qualifications for the HR Manager – Employee Relations & Policy:
1. Extensive HR Experience: Proven track record in HR management, particularly in employee relations and policy in a unionised environment.
2. Strong Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, coach, and inspire a team.
3. Strategic Thinking: Experience in developing and implementing HR strategies.
4. Legal Knowledge: Up-to-date with legislative changes and best practices in HR.
