Our client is looking for an experienced Estates Supervisor to join their team on a full-time employed basis, supporting and maintaining a growing portfolio of care homes, including schools and residential homes for both children and adults in your area. Salary £33,700 per year depending on experience plus a car allowance of £3,600 PA Role Overview: The primary responsibility of this role is to supervise, provide leadership, and support a team of Mobile Maintenance Operatives within a defined region, while closely monitoring performance and quality of work. Additionally, the role will involve project management of small to medium works contracts, offering expert technical advice and surveying services to maintain a diverse property portfolio, ensuring compliance and continuity of service, particularly in support of vulnerable young people and adults. Key Responsibilities: Team Management: Supervise and manage a team of Mobile Maintenance Operatives, providing technical advice and support. Responsibilities include recruitment, addressing HR/Fleet issues, conducting formal supervisions, and continuously assessing the quality of work. Project Management: Oversee small to medium works contracts, ensuring specifications, schedules, and budgets are managed effectively. Contractor Management: Appoint and manage contractors, supervise work on-site, monitor performance, and ensure quality standards are met. Auditing: Conduct regular quality audits and address any deficiencies in completed works. Compliance: Ensure all works and services comply with current legislation and regulations. Review Maintenance Records Books and ensure outstanding remedial works are actioned. Inspection & Reporting: Conduct inspections arising from staff requests or complaints and prepare reports or responses as necessary. Capital Expenditure: Review and assess capital expenditure requests according to company policy. Support: Assist in monitoring PPM compliance and other estates-related issues. Training & Development: Maintain personal and professional development, participate in relevant training activities, and support staff in their development. Location & Travel: The role will be predominantly based in the Midlands (West) region, which will involve extensive travelling throughout this area (i.e. Midlands/Shropshire/North Wales), for which a car allowance and separate mileage allowance will be paid, plus the occasional need for further travelling either within or beyond the defined area/region, which may involve overnight stays. The role will be field based, which includes working from home Additional Information: The successful candidate will work alongside a friendly team, fully supported by senior management. They will also have access to local contractors for electrical, gas, and large-scale projects beyond the scope of their role. Collaboration with home managers and senior staff will be essential to prioritize tasks and manage work within their homes.
