About Johnathan
Johnathan is 20 years old, and has a diagnosis of a Learning Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and Tic Disorder. He can struggle communicating which can lead to significant behaviours that challenge. His Team supports him to overcome this with distraction techniques and engagement. Johnathan is strong and determined and doesn’t let his challenges get the better of him. He requires personal care which is regulated by CQC. He is very kind, curious and active and has a great sense of humour.
Johnathan enjoys being outdoors playing tag or kicking his ball around with his Support Team, he likes playing with his toys, relaxing in his toy room, drawing, and writing in his books. He is very sociable and loves to spend time with those around him, this can be walking or singing and dancing; one of his favourite songs is Celebration. He enjoys learning new skills with his Support Team. He has a car which he goes out in most days with his team to places he likes to visit; he enjoys spending time with his family who visit regularly and take him out for drives.
Key responsibilities:
• Encourage development of life skills (domestic tasks, social activities, money management, relationships).
• Assist with household tasks (cleaning, cooking, washing, maintenance), maintaining high hygiene standards.
• Participate in assessments, planning, and reviews, including action plan implementation.
• Adhere to Seco Support’s Policies, Procedures, and systems.
• Promote personal autonomy, reflecting my views and preferences.
• Record and report changes in health or behaviour, assisting in emergencies or medical needs.
• Communicate with family, advocates, and professionals as needed.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and internal regulations (fire safety, hygiene, environmental health).
• Assist with house administration tasks.
• Participate in staff activities, including meetings, supervision, and training.
• Undertake additional duties as directed by management.
• Follow CQC legislation and guidelines.
About you
The ideal candidate for Johnathan will have experience working in complex supported living services, residential services or hospital settings, but full training will be provided through Seco Supports full induction programme and online learning. Above all else, you will need to be:
• Dedicated, determined, and reliable
• Open-minded with problem-solving skills
• Proactive, confident, and caring
• Passionate about supporting people with complex needs
• Fun, empathetic, and adaptable in communication.
• Drivers and those with relevant NVQ’s/ Diplomas are preferred to support Johnathan.
Full referencing and a full enhanced check of the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) will be required for this position.
