Job Description Summary
Relying on knowledge and skills in molecular biology, biochemistry, or cell biology, identify and validate molecular targets that play a key role in a particular disease process. Use expertise to support drug discovery programs with a focus on cell-based assay development and execution. Independently conceive of experiments that implement the project strategy and lead to data-driven go or no-go decisions.
This position will be located at Cambridge, MA and will not have the ability to be located remote.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:

* Broadens technical knowledge via departmental activities, literature reading and experiential learning.
* Utilizes established networks and builds new network connections, including outside of existing project team.
* Mentors junior member(s) of lab and/or project team.
* Influences within line function.
* Utilizes growing awareness of the drug discovery and/or early development pipeline to identify complex problems, present innovative solutions and drive their implementation.
* Skilled in collaboration across project team labs.
* Accountable for increasingly complex experiments; key contributor to the success of drug discovery, technology, and/or early development projects.
* Brings ideas from a concept or question to a decision in experimental design, based on previous observations.
Role Requirements:
* MS degree plus 3 or more years of experience in Pharma or Biotech industry or a recent PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, or related life science field.
* High proficiency with fundamental experimental methods is a must (tissue culture, qPCR, western blotting).
* Fluorescence and confocal microscopy skills a plus.
* Experience with human iPS cell derived model systems a plus.
* Expertise in advanced molecular biology applications, CRISPR engineering, or reporter systems a plus.
* Knowledge of cardiovascular biology and related experimental approaches a plus.
* Ability to quickly grasp new techniques and focus on detail.
* Basic knowledge of statistics and computational data.
* Data analysis skills.
* Excellent team player, who demonstrates good communication skills, creative problem-solving capabilities, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment.
* Strong written, oral, and record keeping skills.
* Flexibility and aptitude for learning, with a passion to drive groundbreaking science.
Salary Range: $85,400.00 - $158,600.00
