This newly created role will help lead our small care team and support our daily members.
The Nicky is a project of Manchester Jewish Community Care, often described as the best Jewish Social Club for the more mature members of the North Manchester Jewish community and those needing a little extra support.
The centre operates from 08:30 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday, offering a wide range of activities and live entertainment for members. Our programmes include arts and crafts, computer classes, discussion and reminiscence groups, music, yoga, keep-fit, and much more.
On-site amenities include a hairdresser, chiropodist, and convenience shop.
We are now seeking to appoint a kind, caring, and motivated Team Leader to join our team. You will support the Centre Manager in providing leadership to the care team and oversee the health and safety of our members. Experience as a Team Leader is essential, and ideally, you should hold an NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care.
Role Responsibilities:
* Promote the highest standard of person-centred support for our members.
* Supervise and support the care team, ensuring a quality delivery of care.
* Be a role model and demonstrate person-centred care delivery.
* Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of our members and visitors.
* Manage the delivery of members' care according to an agreed plan of care.
* Promote professional standards within the centre while supporting the Centre Manager.
* Assist with the supervision, coaching, and assessment of Care staff.
* Ensure effective assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of members' needs, and ensure electronic documentation is updated.
* Maintain correctly written records as required by the organisation and regulatory bodies.
* Assist the Centre Manager in carrying out regular quality audits.
Skills and Experience Required:
Essential:
* Experience as a Team Leader.
* Experience working with older people.
* Experience supporting people with memory issues and disabilities, including mobility and sight impairments.
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
* Evidence of the ability to contribute to the assessment, planning, and evaluation of the care needs of older people.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Demonstrate self-motivation and confidence.
* Happy and friendly disposition.
Preferred:
* NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care.
* Medication management and administration experience.
* Experience in personal care, e.g., assisting with bathing.
* Understanding of the Jewish Faith, including festivals and dietary requirements.
