Grosvenor Hart Homes are looking for a Family Assistant to join us based out of our Chester city centre office as we expand our multi-disciplinary team. The Family Assistant will have a professional qualification in social work, youth work, health or similar and must have previous experience of working with children, young people and their families as well as a sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures. You will be somebody with the ability to form excellent relationships with our tenants and partners to develop and drive forward plans to help our tenants to achieve their ambitions. The role will involve working with children, young people and their families and as such, the name ‘Family Assistant’ is a working title as the breadth of the role and the relationships the candidate will develop will be with individuals living alone as well as families. As a Family Assistant at Grosvenor Hart Homes, your responsibilities will include: Build trusted relationships with families and young people prior to, during and after their tenancy within Grosvenor Hart Homes. Prior to moving in, work with each prospective tenant / household and the relevant statutory services to assess support needs and create a bespoke plan to meet those needs which moves them through to the next stage of their housing pathway and sets clear, measurable outcomes. Discuss, agree, and then implement a move in plan to smoothly transition each tenant into their home. Drive and oversee execution of each tenant’s support plan – removing barriers, helping to solve problems, keeping tenants motivated and focused on achieving the steps/ goals within their plan to its successful completion. Offering practical and emotional support to individuals and families as needed, including in times of emergency or crisis. Working with residents to facilitate neighbourhood projects to further social outcomes, e.g., community gardening, arts, cooking activities. At Grosvenor Hart Homes, we’re looking for a Family Assistant with the following skills and experience: Professional qualification and background in social work, youth work, health or similar. Must have previous experience of working in a social care role or equivalent with children and families as well as a sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures Experience of complex case management and delivering to assessment and outcome-based frameworks (e.g., the Family Outcomes Star) An understanding of welfare rights and providing money advice This role is based from Chester city centre, with a requirement to work from the office, within tenants’ homes and at external venues within Cheshire West as required.
