Zero Invasive Predators (ZIP) is leading the elimination of wild introduced animals from landscapes of New Zealand, in order to restore the ecological health of natural areas.
ZIP is a not-for-profit organization, established in 2015 by the NEXT Foundation and the Department of Conservation. Funding for the work stems from close relationships with Government organisations and philanthropists, who want to achieve ongoing improvements in the ecological health of natural areas, as well as climate change and economic benefits.
The team at ZIP has expanded significantly in recent years as the track record of the work has attracted increased investment along with an expectation to play a leading role in the restoration of New Zealand’s natural capital.

This position requires a proactive leader with strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, a passion for driving institutional success, and who appreciates the importance of restoring New Zealand’s natural capital.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with ZIP’s mission, existing projects, and long-term aspirations.
* Oversee strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
* Prepare and present financial reports to the ZIP executive team and Board of Directors, and funders.
* Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to ensure financial stability.
* Perform financial analysis of existing and future proposed areas of business, to provide financial insights, counsel, and recommendations to the CE to support decision-making across the organisation.
* Ensure compliance with New Zealand financial regulations and reporting standards.
* Oversee and co-ordinate external audits.
* Manage relationships with funders, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
* Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
* Foster the improvement of the financial management skills of the ZIP executive team.
* Develop and manage contracts, agreements, and leases (vehicle and accommodation), and insurance (for vehicles and facilities).
