Pin Point Recruitment are looking for a Pre-Press Manager to join a manufacturing company based in Portsmouth.
The company has been a winner of the Independent Print Industry Association's Manufacturer of the Year. They run an investment programme that enables them to introduce technology that is more energy efficient and less wasteful for a more sustainable future.
Pre-Press Manager Job Role:
1. Help in the day-to-day running of a busy Pre-press department.
2. Set and monitor targets.
3. Train and motivate prepress staff to meet targets and requirements of the business.
4. Liaise with clients and account managers.
5. Action pre-flighted of customer-submitted files as part of the automation.
6. Troubleshoot any issues and, where necessary, correct files using Adobe Creative Cloud software products and Enfocus/Heidelberg plug-ins.
7. Communicate any queries or problems with production team members and account managers and ensure all client requirements are documented on Print IQ (MIS system).
8. Prioritise and manage workflow, ensuring all jobs are completed on time and within schedule.
9. Follow all relevant health & safety, environmental and quality requirements when completing work.
Pre-Press Manager Skills Required:
1. A good knowledge of MacOS and Windows systems.
2. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud products, namely Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro and Photoshop plus Heidelberg and Enfocus Pitstop plug-ins.
3. Previous experience with Heidelberg and Print IQ MIS (or similar software).
4. A high level of attention to detail and understanding of colour.
5. An excellent understanding of impositions and print production processes and practices.
6. Minimum of 3 years pre-press experience carrying out similar functions.
7. Ability to adapt and function as part of a larger team.
8. Willingness to train and learn new skills as needed.
