Applicants should be able to demonstrate appropriate knowledge and skills relating to buildings maintenance and health and safety requirements in public buildings. We are looking for a candidate who will: Be responsible for the general maintenance, cleanliness and security of the school and to maintain the premises caretaking experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided To conduct inspections of the premises, building, including heating, water, lighting and alarm systems to make sure they are in good working order and compliant Be responsible for locking and unlocking the school and act as a key holder Undertake routine maintenance and basic repairs during the school day and organise and monitor major works during school holidays Be reliable and punctual Be a flexible, self-motivated and independent worker, with a positive attitude Look after the safety and security of everyone at our school and comply with statutory legal requirements DIY skills essential as are good communication skills, computing skills and the ability to work as part of a team Have the ability to develop positive, professional and supportive relationships with staff and children which will help make this challenging post rewarding and enjoyable.
