We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team in supporting a primary school student with SEND.
Role and Responsibilities:As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting a primary school student with SEND needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and supportive environment. Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing one-on-one support to the student during lessons and activities
* Assisting with the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
* Supporting the student in managing their emotions and behaviours
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adjust support strategies as needed
* Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Building a trusting and respectful relationship with the student and their family
* Participating in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
Requirements:The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience working with children with SEMH needs in an educational setting
* A relevant qualification in childcare or education (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable:
* Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant
* Knowledge of strategies and interventions for supporting children with SEND needs
