The Role As a Welder within our Mission Systems sector, you'll have a role that is out of the ordinary. You'll be involved with a variety of exciting design, manufacturing, and support projects. Mission Systems collaborates with key defence clients both domestically and internationally, offering you a dynamic work environment. Day-to-day, you'll be working in a small but highly effective team where the highest of standards will be expected from both a technical and behavioural perspective. Welding of large high strength, quenched and tempered Steel assemblies Welding of assemblies used for lifting and handling Welding using manual, mechanised and automatic (Robotic) welding processes This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time. This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at our Ashton Vale facility in south Bristol. Essential Experience of the Welder Working to high quality standards. Capable of reading complex fabrication drawings. Experience of positional welding using Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) Experience of solid Wire pulse Metal Active Gas (MAG) Precision in welding tasks to ensure high-quality results and adherence to specifications. Ability to identify and resolve issues that arise during the welding process. Qualifications for the Welder Time served apprenticeship or similar in welding / fabrication. Evidence of previously held codings to recognised European/American standards. Security Clearance The successful candidate can start of Standard (BPSS) security clearance but must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance once in position.
