Description Grade UE03- £23,114- £25,148 pro rata Information Service- IS Corporate Part-time: 25 hours per week Open-ended: permanent contract We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our Switchboard and Reception Team – is an open ended 25 hours per week contract (usually 5 hrs per day Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm). You would be based primarily at Argyle House and this position is fully office based. What the job involves: No two days are the same and this position provides the opportunity to: Deliver a professional, efficient and welcoming Reception services to Visitors, Students and Staff Administering swipe card access for Staff and Contractors as necessary Provide an excellent Switchboard service for the University Meeting Room support (Room set-ups, AV Tests and managing bookings etc.) Work with the on-site Facilities team and provide ad hoc help when needed View the full job description. A bit about you: Essential Criteria: Good standard of education, with a good grasp of English language and grammar, able to follow instructions and standard procedures Good IT skills in Microsoft Office, email and use of web Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional, friendly, helpful and approachable manner, tact and diplomacy Ability to stay calm under pressure, good organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail, ability to develop and improve systems Ability to use initiative and a pro-active approach to seeking out information A strongly developed sense of service delivery and customer focussed approach Desirable Criteria: Minimum 6 months relevant experience, preferably in a high-profile busy building as a receptionist, and with good secretarial skills and a customer focussed approach Experience of troubleshooting AV set-ups for meeting rooms First Aid qualification Application procedure: We welcome informal enquiries about the role – to find out more, please email Fiona Kneale at Fiona.knealeed.ac.uk.
