Job Title: Mechanical Fitter (Site-Based) Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent Sector: Robotics / Automation / Engineering About the Role: We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our on-site installation and assembly team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a background in robotics or automation, who is confident working from technical drawings to build and install high-spec mechanical systems. You’ll be responsible for assembling components, supporting machinery installations, and ensuring everything is built to precise specifications—on-site at customer locations across the UK. Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret technical drawings, including component-level diagrams, assembly drawings, P&ID, and specifications Assemble and fit mechanical components to complete machinery and automated systems Use precision measuring tools to ensure exact alignment and fitting of components Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical or process-related issues, implementing practical solutions Carry out on-site machinery installations in line with system specifications and safety standards Liaise directly with customers during installations, acting as the main point of contact on site Provide accurate updates to the internal project delivery team Maintain safe working practices in accordance with health & safety protocols Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and other team members to complete builds and repairs Keep clear and accurate records of work carried out, time taken, and parts used Ensure installations are completed on schedule and aligned with wider project timelines What We’re Looking For: Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Assembly Technician Background working with robotics, automation, or advanced machinery is essential Strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to read complex technical drawings Skilled in using hand tools, measuring equipment, and precision fitting techniques Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude Ability to work independently on customer sites and represent the company professionally Strong communication and time management skills Willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK as part of installation projects What You’ll Get: Competitive salary based on experience Opportunities to work on advanced automation and robotics systems Involvement in high-profile installations across the UK Ongoing training and development Career progression opportunities within a growing, innovative business
