Wendel is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated professional to join our Energy Practice Area as an Energy Engineer in our Rochester, NY Office. This individual will support the Energy team's project portfolio while working in a team environment. Typical activities and responsibilities include performing energy analysis and calculations, in-field identification of energy measures and data collection of existing building energy systems. Additional tasks include the development of energy master plans, building assessment reports and studies, and design documents for project implementation.
In addition to supporting various energy projects in Wendel's portfolio, the role of this Energy Engineer position will also consist of providing energy related technical and management services to an existing key client, with numerous facilities in the greater Rochester area, as an Energy Manager in a trusted advisor role. Anticipated duties of this role include: routine on-site interaction and advisement with the client's facilities department, participation on client's energy committee, energy data analysis including benchmarking and budget analysis, targeted on-site building energy audits, development of an energy master plan, review of on-going capital projects to identify and evaluate energy related measures and associated rebates and incentives, review existing energy management system functions and make commissioning and system enhancement recommendations, provide staff training, quarterly reporting of energy consultation accomplishments, and develop project case studies to document and highlight energy efficiency and decarbonization projects.
Qualifications:
* 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in technical areas (i.e., energy data, lighting, HVAC, HVAC controls, solar, etc.)
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field is ideal.
* Certified Energy Manager, Certified Energy Auditor, or other industry related certifications is ideal.
* Experience with Microsoft Office software required.
* Experience working on energy audits, developing energy master plans, and/or energy related construction projects is ideal.
* Hands on HVAC maintenance and services and/or commissioning/retro-commissioning experience.
* The ability to complete multiple tasks, on multiple projects, by deadlines.
* QA/QC of your own assigned tasks and projects.
* Experience supporting construction activities during implementation.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Proven ability to collaborate with internal staff, client contacts, and public boards.
* Travel is required (around 50%). This position requires reliable transportation to local customer sites.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $110,000
Wendel is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. Salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates' relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary offered will also take into consideration regional adjustment factors.
