Summary ofRole
Equipment andlab management with a wide range of duties. Perform functionaltesting & diagnostics of complex electronic assemblieswithin an engineering lab environment under the supervision ofsenior design engineers.
Thesuccessful candidate will also be required to keep accurate testrecords, carry out any maintenance tasks and aid other disciplinesto improve overall cost and quality of product. Manage theengineering lab's test equipment calibration, lab material stockcontrol and support lab safety procedures.
This roleincludes:
* Equipmentmanagement - calibration, arrange repairs, assist in sourcingequipment (for given Spec to purchase / hire),PAT
* Assist engineers with test set-up - wiring3-phase plugs / sockets, Test equipment software download / set-up,Safety covers / boxes
* Assist engineers withResistive load set-up, Prototype Assembly / PCB's, Cable repairs -mechanical work, wiring, soldering,crimping
* Assist with: Test Dev buy-off - STEassembly, Earth bond testing; PoD / PoM testing - routine testingsuch as HiPot
* Assist with risk assessmentmanagement - review, ECN, sign-off
* Assist withCOSHH management - Sypol requests for newchemicals
* Assist with management of equipment,tools, materials - Sourcing (when required),ordering
* Manage Contractors - onsitecalibration, annual PAT
* Assist with packingequipment / EXIM forms to ship, eg EMC / EMItesting
* Perform functional testing ofelectronic assemblies to aid Design Verification and Qualificationto support contractual, quality and schedulerequirements.
* Diagnose test equipment relatedfaults.
* of preventative maintenance andcalibration plans for test equipment.
* Recordaccurate test records and provide requested yield & failurereports.
* Assist engineering with any ongoinginvestigations / initiatives.
* Aid the continualimprovement of efficiency in designated testarea(s).
AboutYou
We think you'll be a fit forthis role if you have:
* A qualification in Electronics, e.g.HNC/HND or higher
* Approximately 2 years (ormore) experience in an electrical role inengineering
* Demonstrable skills in electricalwiring, electronics and soldering
* Diligence incapturing outcomes and preparing documentation sufficient for thepurpose
* Familiarity with electrical testequipment such as mustimeters, oscilloscopes, and methods oftesting systems in an electricallab
* Familiarity with test software egLabView
* Demonstrable experience in cableselection, termination, and safety testing for standard low voltage(230v) apparatus
