An excellent opportunity has arisen within Synchronicity Care Limited (SCL) for anenthusiastic, self-motivated and committed individual to influence andcontribute as part of the Domestic Services Team at Darlington MemorialHospital.
Domestic Assistants are important members of the team whoassist with maintaining a clean and welcoming environment over a 24/7 periodfor patients, staff and visitors within a busy acute successfulapplicant should preferably have previous cleaning experience in a healthcareenvironment however full training will be provided and all successful postholders will be expected to work towards gaining a NVQ Level 2 Certificate inCleaning and Support Services .
Successful post holders will be expected to workan evening shift pattern which includes weekends. All post holders will besubject to a 6 month probationary period.
Main duties of the job
Successful post holders will be required to carry outspecific cleaning and other related duties following set procedures andstandards to maintain the levels of cleanliness throughout the environment.
They will be required to work as part of a team and have theability to use a degree of initiative to prioritise and organise the dailyduties, whilst maintaining a professional approach at all times regardless ofthe situation.
They will ensure that communicaton channels are maintainedbetween appropirate staff, visitors and patient groups with regard todepartmental cleaning hygiene.
Post holders will be also be expected to be flexible to theneeds of the service ensuring that a continuity of service is maintained whilstadhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
They will have the ability to work unsupervised,be caring, flexible and reliable and have good levels of personal hygiene.

Job responsibilities
To undertake cleaning duties asdetailed within the domestic method statements, following cleaning schedulesand COSHH guidelines.
Ensure compliance with all aspects of Health & Safetylegalisations and correct use of PPE.
To maintain the hospital environment as laid down in theNational standards of Cleanliness.
Undertake rectifications from the cleaning audit actionplans and showing continually improvement.
Assist with beverage service as required and agreed.
Thorough and hygienic cleaning of all domestic equipmentand storage areas
To attend Trust or required training courses that isrelevant to the post as a domestic.
Request and replenish ofall cleaning products through effective stock ordering
Maintain a high level of personal hygiene
Adherence to all Trust Synchronicity Care Limited SCL andDepartmental policies and procedures.
Checking of all equipment before use and report anyfaults and defects to supervisor manager
Recording and maintaining records as required
Reporting of any estates issues that have an impact onthe cleaning services that you provide.
Undertake any other domestic orientated duties asrequired.
Specialist CleaningActivities
To undertake any specialised cleaning HPV cleaning asand when instructed by a supervisor or manager following appropriate protocolsand completion of associated documentation.

6. To be able to demonstrate a reasonable secondary education.
7. Basic understanding of Health & Safety issues and COSSH

8. Previous experience in this type of work would be preferable. Must have NVQ 2 in Support Services or Customer Care or be willing to work towards
