Join us as a Sustainability & Packaging Project Lead and you’ll be a big part of this. To assist in the introduction and to co-ordinate the operation of new sourcing models, ensuring our sustainability & packaging requirements are accommodated in the onboarding process for new products, including: ensuring new product packaging is fit for purpose and meets our sustainable packaging policy and guidelines; supporting suppliers, commercial category teams and the sustainability team to project manage bringing new products to market in accordance with our policies and procedures. Your responsibilities will include: Project Management Support : Ensure packaging and sustainability requirements are integrated into the onboarding process for new products. Liaison with Teams and Suppliers : Work with B&Q's Commercial Category Teams and suppliers to ensure compliance with packaging, wood & paper, and ethical sourcing policies during product onboarding. Collaboration with Packaging Specialists : Ensure packaging specifications support the planned route to market. Conduct appropriate testing. Ensure packaging artwork meets all requirements. Collect and verify packaging data (composition, weights, dimensions). Identify and Inform : Notify Sustainability Team specialists about products/suppliers needing detailed attention. Team Contribution : Support the wider team in achieving objectives effectively and on time. Relationship Building : Foster relationships within the team and organization to enhance efficiency and strategic planning, including risk management. Sustainability Passion : Interest and understanding of key sustainability issues in the retail industry. Commercial Awareness : Understanding of factors influencing business success, including sales, costs, and profit. Customer Focus : Ability to understand and respond to the needs of internal and external customers. Team Player : Capability to build effective relationships with colleagues and peers outside own team. Problem Solving and Decision Making : Open-minded approach to ideas, making decisions based on available information and evidence, and resolving issues promptly. Project Delivery Experience : Experience in delivering projects and implementing new ways of working. Packaging Experience : Prior experience in packaging is desirable but not essential.
