Wehave the perfect job for you in our Coastal & Engineering Team.You will provide a vital role to a wide selection of departments byinspecting Council assets for defects in open spaces, car parks andstunning coastal locations across the NewForest.

Thisrole of Asset Inspector is right up your street as it requires youto notice issues which may affect the health and safety of thepublic in these areas and to record/report them to the relevantoffice staff forrectifying.
Thisrole is also pivotal in ensuring that both standards and the visualappearance of Council areas are maintained to a high level and staysafe for all users. As a result, it really does carry impactand you can make a notable difference to many people'swellbeing.

Lookingfor most of your work not being tied to adesk?
Thisjob primarily involves driving a Council vehicle across the NewForest District to visually inspect areas ranging from naturalwoodlands and children’s play areas to public car parks and longcoastal locations. These inspections are recorded digitallyvia dedicated software on a tablet with defects being passed torelevant departments to getfixed.
Moreminor defects, such as loosened screws on a fence post or a smallcar park sign that needs replacing, may be rectified by the AssetInspector whilst on site using the tools provided. Themajority of works will, however, be undertaken by our in-houseworksteams.
Therole involves a considerable amount of walking on a daily basis soa suitable level of physical fitness will be required, as well asbeing happy to work outside in all the seasonal weather thatEngland gives us!
